John Birkmire

John Birkmire, CPA, MST, is a certified public accountant working in Sterlington’s private wealth practice. Prior to joining the firm, John was a Senior Estate Tax Accountant in Morgan Lewis’ private client practice group where he provided tax compliance, estate planning, and consulting services to ultra-high-net-worth clients and their advisors for over 20 years.

Before that, John was a vice president in the tax group of Glenmede overseeing all aspects of e-filing of fiduciary income tax returns with the IRS and the Pennsylvania Department of Revenue, where Glenmede served as trustee. He also worked in personal income tax planning and representation of clients before the IRS. In addition, John worked for Mellon Bank as a tax officer in the trust tax group focusing on taxation of trusts, foundations and court accounting.

John is currently a member of the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He received his MS in Taxation at Philadelphia University and a BS in Accounting at Philadelphia College of Textiles & Science.
