Emalee Welsh

Partner and Deputy Head, Private Wealth
Emalee Welsh is a partner and the deputy head of Sterlington's Private Wealth practice. She designs and implements sophisticated wealth transfer plans for U.S.-based ultra-high-net-worth individuals, owners of privately held businesses, entrepreneurs, and multigenerational family groups. Emalee counsels her clients regarding all aspects of their personal legal needs, including estate, gift, GST, and income tax planning; trust and estate administration; family dispute resolution; business succession planning; and charitable giving.

Before joining Sterlington, Emalee practiced at Morgan Lewis for nine years and clerked on the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware.

Emalee is listed by The Best Lawyers in America, "Ones to Watch," for Trusts and Estates (2023–2025) and is a graduate of the Mid-Atlantic Fellows Institute of the American College of Trusts and Estates Counsel. She serves on the Board of Trustees of the Philadelphia Ballet.

Emalee earned her J.D. from Drexel University Thomas R. Kline School of Law, where she graduated first in her class and served as Editor-in-Chief of the Drexel Law Review. Prior to that, Emalee earned a Master of Arts in philosophy from the University of Missouri—St. Louis and a Bachelor of Science in physics from Virginia Tech.
