Paralegal, Asset Finance

Remote - Full-time

A well-established and growing international law firm is looking for a Paralegal or Legal Assistant in our Asset Finance team to support its growth.

Our clients include private equity and other investment funds, multi-billion-dollar family offices, public and private companies, investment banks, high-net worth individuals, and startups.

The Role: 

Our high-performing Asset Finance team specializes in aviation asset financing, leasing, and trading and has an opportunity for a paralegal to join. This role will assist in the project management and execution of contract creation in a fast-paced, tech-driven environment. You will learn complex legal processes and will need to bring excellent organization, project management skills, and task prioritization to the role to succeed. The team’s work centers around the EST time zone and whilst applicants may be based anywhere, they should be prepared to align their work hours to EST.

Responsibilities:  

  • Coordinate and manage legal projects from inception to completion.
  • Develop project plans, timelines, and milestones in collaboration with the attorney team.
  • Monitor project progress and ensure timely completion of tasks – escalating where appropriate.
  • Communicate effectively with team members to allocate resources and address any issues or delays.
  • Assist attorneys with legal research, document preparation, and case management.
  • Review and analyze legal documents for accuracy and completeness.
  • Maintain organized electronic and physical filing systems for legal documents and records.
  • Implement and enforce standardized processes to improve efficiency and consistency.
  • Liaise with clients, opposing counsel, and external parties on projects to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Prepare correspondence, emails, and other communications on behalf of attorneys.

Qualifications and attributes:  

  • BA or LLM in legal studies.
  • Previous experience in a legal support role or project management position is advantageous (a paralegal certification is advantageous).
  • Proficiency in legal research, writing, and document management software.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately under pressure.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and independently when necessary.
  • Commitment to upholding ethical standards and maintaining client confidentiality.
  • Fluency in English language, or evidence of high business proficiency in English.
