Sterlington was founded by a senior partner from a large NY-based law firm. We are headquartered in New York, though candidates work remotely. Our clients include private equity and other investment funds, multi-billion-dollar family offices, public and private companies, investment banks, high net worth individuals, and startups.

 

Requirements:

  • As Compliance & Conflicts Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the successful implementation of centralizing our client onboarding function through planning, execution, and monitoring.
  • Managing conflict search results, conducting legal and commercial analysis of potential conflict and confidentiality issues, reporting only key issues to partners, fee earners or the GC&R team.
  • Providing the creation of options and recommendations to mitigate and drive solutions in a positive and constructive manner.
  • Managing project work in relation to BAU workflows, monitoring systems and controls and compiling Management Information statistics for stakeholders.

 

About you:

  • Compliance and conflict clearance experience of onboarding scenarios for clients based in US, higher risk territories and/or other overseas countries – minimum 5+ years of experience.
  • Experience of dealing with compliance and conflicts (AML, Sanctions, PEP etc.) for a wide range of client types, including private individuals, corporates, partnerships, trusts etc.
  • Preferable relevant experience within legal services industry, although other financial services experience will be considered.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a strong focus on attention to detail.
  • Utilizing business focused writing, speaking, and presenting to communicate and negotiate across all levels of staff and management, adapting the messaging to the stakeholder.
  • This role requires a client-centric mindset, strong project management skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Possessing the ability to work both collaboratively and independently across multicultural teams in multiple locations.
